Bosou Twa Kón

Pierre, Andre (Haitian, 1916 – 2005)

Oil on canvas. In the Catholic Church, it is called St. Nicholas, father of the triplets. Only God possesses three horns which are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This symbolism of the horns represents also the three kings: Gaspard, Melchior, and Balthazar. Bosou Twa Kon was the first to create magic. His first magic was man. He created man with his own hands and out of the dust of the earth. He gave him life by blowing in his nostrils. Then he said: “Do everything in my name. In my name, everything will be accepted. Everything is dust and shall return to dust.”
