Born in 1965 in the coastal city of Leogane, Mireille Delice
learned the art of flag making from her friend Myrlande Constant. Like Constant, Delice worked in a wedding dress factory in Port-au-Prince. She
started creating flags after dreaming about the Vodou Lwa (or spirit) Erzulie. Her
first drapo Vodou featured a heart, the imagery
associated with Eruzlie. Delice established her own atelier and continues to make
flags inspired by both Vodou and everyday life in Haiti.
