The HAS Trading Post
The Trading Post has been established as a place to help members exchange art. It will be similar to Craigslist. If you would like to list art for sale, you can do that here. If you are looking for something special for your collection, you can post that request here as well. This space is not intended to compete with galleries, eBay, or auction houses, it is simply designed to be a valued added service to our paid membership. Our belief is that anything that drives attention to our website and encourages Haitian Art in general, is good for the entire community. As they say, “A high tide raises all ships…”. And through our modest listing fees, it will become a new source of ongoing revenue to support our organization.
Here’s how it works. To sell an item, simply fill out the listing form with the following information (if known):
Artist (first and last name)
Title (or subject)
Medium (oil on canvas, on board, metal sculpture)
Dimensions of Art framed (height, width)
Size of Art unframed (height, width)
Date of work (or date range)
Condition (note any damage or issues)
Provenance/Notes (if known)
Your Contact info (email or phone for inquiries)
Photographs (you may include up to 4 photos per piece)
Listing fees will be as follows per piece based on the original listing price:
$1 - $500 $ 5.00
$501 - $2500 $10.00
$2501 - up $20.00
If you see something that interests you, contact the seller directly using the contact information they have provided. Do not contact HAS as this is strictly a private transaction between the buyer and seller, and The Haitian Art Society will have no involvement. We are merely a listing service.
Each member may list up to 10 pieces at any one time on the Trading Post. Listing fees need to be paid before the art is listed. The listing duration will be 60 days unless renewed for another listing fee. If one of your listings is sold, or removed, you will be able to replace it with a new listing, and the associated fee, as long as your total is 10 or less. If one of your pieces is sold, you need to notify HAS so that we can delist it from the site. HAS, at its sole discretion, may refuse to list any item for any reason, and the listing fee will be refunded.
The Haitian art Society shall have NO INVOLVEMENT IN ANY TRANSACTION, and NO RESPONSIBILITY for any questions pertaining to AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION, or any other DETAILS concerning a PRIVATE SALE. All conversations are strictly between the buyer and seller, and the Haitian Art Society shall have NO PARTICIPATION WHATSOEVER in these discussions.
