The Society was formed in 2003 to strengthen and expand interest in and understanding of Haitian Art and Artists. Our website provides information about the HAS and our events, and also about other Haitian art events. We provide links to other sites about Haitian art and culture. Please click on the page links on the left to navigate around the HAS website archive. The Haitian Art Society now has a Facebook Group > In addition to maintaining its web site and Facebook group, the Haitian Art Society organizes Conferences at which members are able to view public and private collections of Haitian art.

Information and many images from the Smithsonian's Haiti Cultural Recovery Project, an 18-month conservation response effort to Haiti's 2010 earthquake,can be found at this website: www.haiti.si.edu. Also, for those interested, Richard Kurin's book about the effort, with contributing essays by numerous participating conservators, Saving Haiti's Heritage: Cultural Recovery after the Earthquake (Smithsonian Institution, 2011), is now available. Our beloved and talented Haitian artists, their friends, families, and neighbors are in great peril. They are in desperate need of food, water, shelter and medical care.
